Global Digital Campaigning Strategy

The Client

The International Transport Workers Federation, a global union with 4.5 million members worldwide required a strategy to reach and engage with workers online and offline using digital toolsets and communications channels.

The project focused on how to use digital communication tools to support international solidarity actions and campaigns.

Our approach to the project engaged internal and external stakeholders from around the world in a user centered process. We successfully aligned all internal stakeholders behind a common shared strategy.

Transport workers around the world face challenging working conditions, with workers in developing countries faring worst in their negotiations with multinational employers.

We delivered a platform to crowd sourced the capture data on the existence and content of collective bargaining agreements from around the world. The availability of this data would in turn benefit those employees as they negotiate agreements with Global delivery companies in their own countries.

Dockers and Seafarers

We delivered a mobile responsive multilingual union organising site based on Drupal for ITF Dockers and Seafarers. The platform facilitates secure collaboration around their annual conference. It consisted of a private social network where members can connect with each other online, form groups and create their own side events during and after a conference. The community aspect of the website is private and only accessible to vetted members.
